Key responsibilities

As Manager Knowledge Base for Grant Development you will support the grant advisors with developing and maintaining expert knowledge on research grants and innovation programmes. You will enable this knowledge base to be shared with colleagues in the University, both to researchers and support staff. As such, you will keep the content of the University research funding website and an internal sharepoint environment up to date. You coordinate the funding news and research support staff network, and together with the team generate materials for training courses, information meetings and network events.
The knowledge base comprises both existing funding opportunities and new developments in the funding landscape, and your role is to scout, collect and select relevant information. Furthermore you improve the knowledge base by analysing experiences and gathering best practices from the research community.
You will work closely with the Luris grant advisors and Public Relations team.

Selection criteria

  • University degree;
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant research funding opportunities and funding landscape
  • Understanding of the organisation and target groups;
  • Experience with digesting huge amounts of information and selectively extracting relevant information;
  • Strong ICT skills, experience with managing information or designing using Sharepoint 2016 and Hippo CMS, or similar, essential;
  • Excellent oral and writing skills in both Dutch and English;
  • Service-driven and open to the needs of your clients;
  • Ability to effectively manage simultaneous tasks with recurrent deadlines and possess flexibility to cope with ad hoc deadlines;
  • Functions well in multi-disciplinary teams, possesses coordination skills and the ability to motivate others to adhere to set timelines.

Luris is the knowledge exchange office for Leiden University and Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), and supports scientists in their ambition to have their knowledge impact on society at large. Luris helps to set up vigorous, dynamic new collaborations with business, societal partners, funding agencies and the government as well as seeking to optimise existing relationships with these external parties, thus enriching the research landscape in Leiden University and LUMC.

Terms and conditions

We offer a two year term position (possibly with a probation period of 2 months) with the opportunity of renewal based on need, funding and performance. Salary range from € 2,588.- to € 4,084.- gross per month, based on full-time employment (pay scale 10, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities).
